Police stopped a motorist on SR 158 southbound in front of the Flying J Travel Center.  A citation was issued for speeding, 51mph in a 35mph zone on Outville Road.

Police stopped a motorist on US 40 west of Miller Lane and issued a citation for speeding.  An officer observed the vehicle traveling at 59mph in the 35mph zone.

Police stopped a motorist for speeding on Outville Road southbound.  The driver was given a warning for speed.

Police received a complaint of a break-in to a truck at the Flying J Travel Center.  Initial investigation revealed a possible suspect known to the victim.  The case remains under investigation.

Police received a report from Licking County Sheriff’s Office regarding an attempted child abduction in the area.  Officers checked the area for suspects.

While on patrol at the Flying J Travel Plaza, police were summoned by a driver reporting a crash in the truck parking area.  The officer found that one truck had rolled into another truck in the parking area in a head-on type of collision.  There were no injuries, and both trucks received minor damage.

Police were dispatched to the Flying J Travel Plaza on report of a hit-skip collision.  An auto-transporter parked in the truck lot had been struck during the night, damaging a Jeep Cherokee that was part of the load.  The case remains under investigation.

Police were dispatched to Pine Kirk Care Center on report of an assault.  Apparently a resident assaulted another resident after being pushed in the hallway.  The case remains under investigation.

Police were dispatched to a Main St. residence on a dispute.  Officers arrested Michael D. Tanner of Pataskala on warrants for five felony counts, ranging from breaking and entering, possession of criminal tools, and vandalism.  Mr. Tanner was transported to the Franklin County Jail, were he was incarcerated.

Police stopped a motorist on Outville Road southbound near I-70 for speeding.  A citation was issued to the driver for driving 51mph in the posted 35mph zone.

Police issued citation to a motorist on East Main Street at Fourth Street after the vehicle was checked at 58mph in the 35mph zone.

Police checked the area of I-70 and SR 158 after a report of a possible impaired driver in the area.  Police stopped a vehicle matching the description.  The driver was not impaired, but was tired.  He was advised of his manner of operation and released.

Police found a disabled vehicle on I-70 westbound near SR 158.  The motorist had a flat tire on her vehicle.  The officer assisted in changing the tire.

Police found a purse in South Alley, between Outville Road and Third Street.  There was no identification in the purse.

Police issued citation to a motorist found eastbound on Main Street between Outville Road and SR 158.  The vehicle had been traveling at 49mph in the posted 35mph zone.

Police stopped a vehicle on US 40 west of SR 158 for speeding.  Officer observed the vehicle traveling on SR 158 at 64mph in the posted 50mph zone.  A citation was issued.

 

The Kirkersville Division of Police would like to remind residents with the beginning of summer, that people are out and about.  Please use caution in your travels.  Also, yard sale season is upon us.  While no permit is required for yard sale signs posted no more than five days, please remember that posting signs on utility poles is prohibited.  You must supply your own post, wire frame, stake, or other device to hold the yard sale sign.  Thank you for your cooperation, and have a safe summer season!
